Howell, who took a motor trip' to Wellington last week, has returned. Wearing a frock of floral marocain, Mrs. W. Burton entertained at an enjoyable party at her home on Monday night in honour of the joint birthdays of Mr. Burton and Mrs. F. Riddle. The rc-ms were decorated with massds of flowers in shades of yellow and gold and green and gold streamers. After dinner the guests spent a pleasant time dancing and playing games until supper time, when a handsomely iced birthday cake decorated with 106 kewpies was cut. idr. A. Galloway proposed the toasts of the guests of the evening, Mr. Burton and Mr. Archbold (for Mrs. Riddle) replying. Among those present were Mesdames L. F. Scott, G. and A. Galloway, V. Adams, A.
