TEST OF AEROPLANE

CRAFT FOR COOK STRAIT SERVICE. FLIGHTS MADE AT HOBSONVILLE. (Spec -.l t> Daily News). Auckland, Last Night. Successful test flights were made at Hobsonville at the week-end with the first of the two De Havilland Rapide planes which arrived recently. The machine, which is for Cook Strait Airways Ltd., was flown by Flight-Lieui. G. Bolt, the company’s chief pilot, and FlyingOfficer A. T. Orchard. Both pilots were enthusiastic about the performance of the Rapide, a twin-en-gined cabin biplane. It is hoped that the second machine will be ready for the air in a day or two. If tests are satisfactory both planes, will be flown south on Friday.
