EXHIBITION OF VTORK. An exhibition of competition work was given by the Patea Boy Scout and Cub troops in the town hall supper room at Patea on Monday, the public and committee members being well represented. Miss G. Mr. Hemingway paid a tribute to committee and officers and stressed the value of the movement. The Cubs’ programme included forming circle and howl, the tying of . knots arid explaining their uses, four jungle dances and the semaphore alphabet. Basil Roots gave a skipping exhibition and Dick and Gavin Carey sang.
The Scouts’ programme showed their excellent training and their physical drill, signalling and artificial respiration work were submitted in a convincing and pleasing manner. Regret at the inability of the Mayor, Mr. F.’ Ramsbottom, to attend was expressed. <
