UNSETTLED WEATHER
CHANGE ONLY TEMPORARY By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather will still be changeable and squally, with scattered showers, but improving, says the 4 p.m. forecast.. Temperatures will be low, with sharp inland frosts in the South Island, but rising tomorrow. Later conditions will become unsettled again in western districts, especially from Taranaki southwards. Pressure is still low to the east, while an anti-cyclone extends across the Tasman Sea, but its centre appears to be taking a northern course. Winds will be moderate to strong south-westerly, still reaching gale force in exposed positions, but slowly decreasing and later veering to westerly and north-westerly in the south. Seas will be rough to high north of Farewell Spit and south of Cape Palliser and elsewhere rather rough to rough, but moderating gradually.
