Mrs. W. J. Polson (Stratford) was a visitor to New Plymouth this week.

Mrs. J. H. Sheat returned last night from a holiday at Auckland. Mrs. L. W. Lovell will leave to-day for Wellington for a few days. Miss M. McCormick, Lower Hutt, who has been the guest of Mrs. H. D. Maxwell, will return to-day. Miss B. H. Cartwright left yesterday for Dunedin, where she will spend several weeks. Mrs. G. Olliver, Wellington, who has been visiting her mother, Mrs. M. Pauli, this week left on her return yesterday. Miss Wade, Timaru, arrived on Thursday to be the guest of Mrs. W. R. Wade. Miss Dorothy Brown, wlio has been visiting Masterton. for several weeks, returned to New Plymouth on Wednesday. Mrs. D. H. Griffiths left last week for Auckland en route to Sydney, travelling on the Lurhne. Mrs.- C. K. Wilson, Pio P-o, Dominion president of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, is the guest of Mrs. M. M. Arthur. Mrs. F. N. Whitcombe is expected to return to-day from several weeks’ holiday at Palmerston North. Among the visitors who motored to New Plymouth for the operatic society’s musical comedy, “No,. On Tuesday the Westown Golf Club held its closing day ’matches, after which a presentation was made on behalf of the club by the club captain, Mrs. H. W. Brown, to the secretaries, Mrs. W. Wood and Mrs. A. G. Elliott. “Bathroom” Gift Party. Miss Ehid McAllum, Inglewood, who is to be married this month, was guest of honour at a “bathroom” gift morning tea yesterday give: by Mrs. A. P. C. Leslie at the “Chequers,” which had been prettily decorated for -the occasion with pink and cream Iceland poppies. To receive the guests Mrs. Leslie wore a brown and fawn checked suit with fawn, straw hat.' Miss McCallum wore a Donegal tweed costume with nut brown Tyrollean hat. The guests included Mesdames P.
