ST. MARY’S CHOIR, HAWERA. NINE CHORUSES PRESENTED. After three months of intensive rehearsing St. Mary’s Anglican choir, Hawera, reaped the reward of its efforts at St. Mary’s Church last night when before a large audience it presented excerpts from Handel’s Messiah. Nine choruses, including the Hallelujah chorus were sung by the choir, assisted by a number of singers frotn the church’s congregation.. The solo work was undertaken by Mrs. J. A. Duffill, Miss Merle Adamson, Miss P. Ekdahl (soprano), Mrs. Buller, Wanganui, Miss D. Gilmore (contraltos), Mr. Alex. Galloway (tenor) and Mr. Harold Ackroyd (bass).
