TAUMARUNUI BOWLING
OFFICIAL OPENING OF GREENS. (Special to Daily News.) The official opening of the Taumarunui Bowling Club's season took place on Wednesday afternoon, when there was a largo attendance of members and visitors, Mr. R. H, Ross, president, said he was pleased to see members of the Wanganui and Ohura clubs present. With the greens in good order and a new green to play on there was now plenty of room to hold championships. He thanked the green supervisor for carrying out his work in such a capable man-' per, and asked members to accept an invitation to the opening of the Ohura club’s green on November 20.
After Mrs. Ross had thrown the jack Mrs. S. Sarah delivered the first bowl and the president declared the greens open for play.
Ic Mr. Ross subsequently opened the 1 croquet green, and during the afternoon s many enjoyable games were played. Thf women supplied afternoon tea.
