SUNDAY SCHOOL CONCERT
HAWERA PRESBYTERIAN PUPILS.
The annual tea and concert of St. John’s Presbyterian Sunday school, Hawera, was held on Wednesday night. There was a large attendance presided over by the Rev. A. G. Irvine in the unavoidable absence of the superintendent, Mr. R. S. Sage. The school library fund will benefit considerably from the proceeds of the concert. The-programme was: Song, primary department; pianoforte duet, Laurie Ackroyd and Don Tait; song, Miss T. Clement’s class; vocal duet, Joyce and Gloria Frank; song, Mrs. J. Gould’s class; recitation, Eileen McCay; song, Mr. G. Badcock’s class; vocal duet, Jetta Trotter and Frances Fyfe; dialogue, Mr. A. Thomson’s class; recitation, Douglas Cameron; pianoforte solo, Arthur Veale; song, Miss O. Pettigrew’s class; song, Shirley Phillips; dialogue, Miss ■J. Whitelock’s class; pianoforte duet, Jean and lan Cameron; song, Mr. A. Hunter’s class; recitation, Russell Campbell; dialogue, Mr. F. C. Bone’s class; recitation, Daphne Hollard; recitation, Lorainne Baker;- song, Miss F. Thomson’s class. PERSONAL. Messrs. W. Bromley, deputy-chairman of (he Unemployment Board, and J. S. Hunter, unemployment commissioner, met two deputations at Hawera yesterday. Messrs. T. M. Ellis and W. G. Walkley representing the Hawera Aero Club, discussed the aerodrome position in committee.
