SUCCESSFUL EVENT AT MANUNUI. (Special to Daily News.) Taumarunui, Oct. 28. A successful sports meeting was held at Manumii to-day, competitors and spectators being present from all parts of the Central King Country. The principal events resulted as follows:— Bicycle road race, 20 miles, Manunui to Owhango and back: A. Fredrickson (8m), Ih 3m 555, 1; J. Tait (8m), lh 4m 17s, 2; D. Dowman (scr), lh 0m 255, 3. One rnile bicycle race: C. Bisshel (120 yds), 2m 48145, 1; D. Dowman (scr), 2m 42 2-ss, 2. 100 yards race: A. Derbidge, 10 2-ss, 1; L. Kirton, 2, Inter-school 100 yards championship: Boys, P. Sullivan (Taumarunui) 1; girls, N. Cheese (Manunui) 1. District schools’ relay races: Boys, 9 to 12, Convent 1; girls, Manunui 1. Boys, 9 to 15, Taumarunui 1; girls, Manunui 1. Local schools’ relay races: Boys, 9 to 12, A. Davis 1; girls, I. Wilson 1. Manunui school championship. 100 yards: Boys, G. Roper 1; girls, N. Cheese 1. Young women’s race: J. Fifield 1, N.
