GREEK PLEBISCITE
VOTE FOR THE MONARCHY URGED. BASIS FOR NATIONAL REVIVAL. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 10.30 p.m. London, Oct. 29. The Greek Government has approved of decrees withdrawing martial law and prescribing penalties for attacks on the monarchy in the Press or in public, reports the Athens correspondent of the Times.
The Prime Minister, General Kondylis, addressing a meeting of monarchists, maintained that the existence of the republic was detrimental to national unity and exhorted his hearers to vote for restoration at Sunday’s plebiscite, as it would be the foundation of a national revival.
