CHANGE FROM TRAMS
TROLLEY OMNIBUSES AT LONDON.
EXPENSE OF FIRST INSTALMENT.
(British Official Wireless.) Rec. 5.5 pjn. Rugby, Oct. 28.
A further step towards the disappearance of electric tramcars both in inner and outer London was taken yesterday, when a service of trolley omnibuses was inaugurated between the western suburbs of Shepherd’s Bush and Hammersmith and the outlying districts of Hounslow and Hampton Court. Other developments of the same kind are in prospect in other parts of outer London, and it is estimated the first instalment of the scheme for converting tramcars to trolley bus services will cost £35,000,000.
