FRIENDLY CRICKET MATCH
HAWERA BEATS HIGH SCHOOL. I Hawera B and Hawera Technical High School cricket teams tried friendly conclusions on Labour Day High School, taking first strike, compiled 86. Kirkby making 23 and McKoy 21. The three bowlers who took most of the wickets did so cheaply. Fraser took three for 2, Fairweather two for 3 and Cockerill two for 7. Hawera made 94 to win by eight runs Fairweather top-scored with 31 and Lendrum made 26. Others to reach double figures were Stevens 13 and McFadyen 12. Sage took three wickets for 18 runs and McKoy and Eden took two each. Eden took two good catches.
