WISEMAN’S FORCEFUL INNINGS.

WESTERN PARK B WEAK TEAM.

Playing with only nine men, Western Park B could muster only 37 in the first innings against New Plymouth B (R. Sarten 15, Parfitt 13 not out, K. Ferry 3 for 6). New Plymouth replied with 166, to which L. Wiseman contributed 102 (retired), Webber 19, Ferry 18 and Rowan 11, Wiseman’s innings including 22 fours. Woods took 5 wickets for 45. OLD BOYS’ STRONG BATTING. KIWI BEATEN BY AN INNINGS. Two Old Boys batsmen topped the half-century and four others reached double figures against Kiwj. The innings totalled 211 (Scoble 54 not out, Cawthray 54, McKoy 40, Somerton 14, Plumb 13, Hamilton 11). Kiwi’s first innings produced 58 (A. Smith 31), Somerton taking 4 for 11 and McKoy 2 for 0. The second innings realised 34 (extras 16) the damage being done by Somerton 13 for 8), McKoy (3 for 0) and Riley (2 for 6). ONLY ONE MATCH SOUTH TARANAKI SENIOR B. POWER BOARD DEFEATS MANAIA. \ Power Board defeated Manaia in a B grade match at Manaia by 147 runs for seven to 27. Manaia batted first, but before the extremely accurate bowling of D. Hughes, who took three-for seven, and Lendrum, who took six for 16, the scoring was poor, Moses topping the list with eight. Lendrum was to the fore when Power Board batted, scoring 52 before retiring. Hammond scored 28, R. Woolford 24 and O’Dea 10 not out. N. Whalen, with three for 60, was the only bowler to have much effect.
