STRIKING FORM.
After a long period in the doldrums the All Black Rugby team in England at last seems to be striking form. It is too early yet to say whether Saturday’s exhibition- was a flash in the pan or the beginning of a sustained recovery, but it is heartening to hear that the forwards are something like their old selves, and seem now to be playing as a pack. The Cardiff team is apparently weaker than its predecessors, judging from the anticipated score against it, and for this reason the results of other matches must be awaited before a sound deduction can be drawn as to the All Blacks’ form. The • piece de resistance of Saturday’s game, from New Zealand’s point of view, was the scoring of a try on almost the identical spot on which the famous disputed try was scored in 1905. The touring team, has convincingly cleared any psychological hurdle that the Cardiff ground may have had as a result of the 1905 encounter, and its career during the next few weeks will be watched with quickening interest.
