NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB EXECUTIVE.

CONDITIONS OF CYCLING POINTS.

That any cycling competitor promoted from a junior to a senior grade shall not be credited with any points gained in the junior grade was the decision of the executive committee of the New Plymouth Amateur Athletic? Club at a meeting last night. There were present Dr. G. H. Thomson (chairman) and Messrs. M. Charteris, F. J. Patterson, J. W. Hollows, R. L. Haines, V. Hodgson, M. Comber, C. H. Croker and W. W. Wilson (secretary). It was decided to appoint Mr. D. Parkin as groundsman for the club. The secretary was instructed to write to Mr. Booth expressing appreciation of his services and his keenness in the past. Mr. T. Evans was elected a member. Messrs. Haines, Patterson, Comber and Hodgson were appointed a sub-commit-tee, with power to add, to act in regard to the supplying of the new low hurdles.

A cup given by Mr. N. Webster was allocated to the secondary schoolboy gaining the greatest number of aggregate points in evening events. It will be competed for annually. The action of the chairman in lending gear for the New Plymouth Boys’ High School annual sports was approved. Mr. Wilson was authorised to advise the Boys’ High School that all boys under the age of 18 years were invited to attend the evening meetings as guests.

The opening club night will be on November 5, and it was decided that entries should be forwarded previously so that handicaps could be arranged. The secretary was instructed to send a letter of thanks to Mrs. J. W. Hollows for conserving to act as chaperon, and letters of condolence to Messrs. L. McKoy and A. C. Sadler in their illness.
