TEMPERATURES RISING By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Scattered showers or misty rain are likely on the east coast of the North Island, but otherwise the weather will be fair but with considerable cloud and later rain developing on the West Coast of the South Island, says the 4 p.m. forecast. Temperatures will be cold to-night, but gradually rising. A rather intense antj-cyclone is centred east of the South Island, while a shallow depression lies to the northeast of New Zealand. A depression also covers the western Tasman Sea, Winds will be south-easterly to easterly from Cook Strait northwards, and north-east-erly to northerly over most of the South Island, They will be moderate mainly, but strong at places in the far north and about Cook Strait, and later freshening in the south. Seas in New Zealand waters will be rather rough on parts of the east coast of the North Island, but otherwise smooth to moderate.
