BUSINESS QUEEN
MISS JEAN MacRAE SELECTED. CARNIVAL FOR WINTER SHOW. A meeting of business people last night to form a committee and select a candidate for the business section of Stratford in the winter show queen carnival chose Miss Jean Macßae and formed a strong committee to further her candidature. Present were Mr. G., L. Johnson (chairman), Mrs. Max Gernhoefer, Messrs. Gernhoefer (president of the winter show association), R. G. Watson, G. Carryer, R. H. Benefield, J. C. Allen, R. Mark, F. T. Hale, H. Dixon, W. E. Burgess, W. Ewing, A. D. Jury, W. Carman, J. Buckley, R. D. Milne, A. G. Petrie, C. Fisher and J. Radich. Mr. Johnson was appointed chairman, Mr. Hale assistant chairman and Mr. Mack, secretary. Those present were formed into a general commitee, with the exception of Mr. and Mrs. Gernhoefer and Mr. Milne, with power to add and an executive comprising Messrs. Allen, Nelson, Burgess, Watson, Jury and Petrie was elected. The colours selected were green and white. Mr. Gernhoefer stated that the central committee planned to start the carnival with a public event, such ,as a dance in the town hall, the suggestion being that the funds be pooled.
