SYMCONY’S PACE
DEBUT ON SYDNEY RACECOURSE. MONETA WINS PONY EVENT. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 7.30 p.m. Sydney, Sept. 4. At the Ascot races Moneta won the 14.2 Handicap. . . Viking was third in the second division of the Novice, in which School Song was unplaced. Calydon, having his first run at Sydney, was fourth in the Jumpers’ Flat. Symcony, having his first run in Australia, displayed great pace in the Flying Handicap, leading for five furlongs, after which his condition gave out. Tea Fight and King of Diamonds were unplaced in the Mascot Welter Mile, and Cockpen was unplaced in the Ascot Handicap.
