ATTEMPT ON RECORD
CAMPBELL TRIES BLUEBIRD. SATISFYING PERFORMANCE. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Salt Flats (Utah), Sept. 2. Sir Malcolm Campbell in a trial run reached 240 miles an hour, the Bluebird satisfying him in every detail. He will attempt the record to-morrow. He found that the altitude of more than 4600 feet gave him quicker acceleration and the wind resistance was less than at sea level. The ratified atmosphere affected the air brakes, making them of little value in slowing up after the finish of the measured mile.
