WEATHER ON WEST COAST By Telegraph—Press Association. x Wellington, Last Night. Weather conditions will be unsettled and further scattered rain is likely in the northern and east coast districts of the North Island, with some heavy falls in North Auckland* according to the 4 p.rh. forecast. Elsewhere the weather will still be mainly fair to fine. Temperatures wilt be cold with sharp frosts in the South Island. An anti-cyclone covering New Zealand has remained centred east of the South Island while a depression has been situated north of the Dominion. South-easterly winds will predominate north of Westport and Kaikoura, but winds will be easterly north of Auckland Winds will be moderate to strong generally and reaching gale force at places in the far north and in Cook Strait. There will be light and variable winds south of Westport and 'Kaikoura. Seas in New Zealand waters will be rough north of East Cape, moderate to. rather rough thence southwards to Kaikoura, and on the west coast of the North Island and smooth to moderate elsewhere. In the eastern Tasman Sea there will be fresh to-strong east to south winds with rough seas in the northern half and light to moderate north-east winds and moderate seas in the southern half.
