SCHOOL COMMITTEE DANCE. The Tangarakau school committee held a successful dance on Saturday. There was a good attendance of parents and children. A competition was won by Miss B. Tolley, Marton, and second prize by Mr. Ebbett, Stratford. Mr. W. Tolley, ■ Haeo, won the special prize. A mystery train waltz was won by Mrs. J. A. Stewart and Mr. Jenkinson, Tangarakau. Children’s Monte Carlos were won by Hector Mallett and Margaret Miller and Pat and Kathie Walsh. The prizes were , given by Mr. E. Campbell, Mrs. T. Mallett and Mrs. Stark. The master of ceremonies was Mr. A. A. Hutchison, assisted by Mr. Jim Stewart. Tlie music was played by Mrs. Stark. The supper was arranged by Mrs. Jim Stewart and Mrs. Northcott, assisted by girls of the school. Mr. George Egerton has left Tangarakau for Wanganui, where his marriage is to take place to-day. He is: also on annual leave. Mr. W. R. Tolley spent a very enjoyable week-end- in Tangarakau to take part in the opening of the tennis season.
