Miss Hall, Patea, is the guest of Mf& E. Hay bit tfe. RATAPIKO BALL. DISTRICT SOCIAL ITEMS. The second aiR-nM ball of the Ratapikq Football Club wa held on Tuesday. Favoured with fine weather there was a record attendance and the h a ll pre? sented an animated scene. Music was played by Hooker’s orchestra, The foot-* bailers proved that they are a? adept at decorating halls as they are on the Rugby field and the hall has never looked better. Large nikau ferns adorned the walls, the lower parts being draped with feathery lycopodium. Dozens of coloured balloons ..’ere hung amongst the greenery apd green and gold paper streamers were' used to give the finishing touch. The supper tables were prettily arranged with spring! flowers and a real footba ers’ suppe. ,was provided by the women’' committee. A 'euchre tournament was conducted by Mr. Jack Lepper, the prizes going ta Mrs. 0. Martin apd Mr. O. D. ames. A Monte Carlo was won by Miss Lobb and Mr. Nolan Bracegirdle. The Piasters of ceremonies were Mr. W. Wells and My. G. Linklater, Extras were played by Mr. M. Feek and - M- Keeghan. Mis? Dulcie Hill was a visitor to Ratapiko during the week-end. Miss J. Feazer, New Plymouth, was a visitor to Ratapikr for tl. football ball. Mrs. G. Hucker, who has left to live in the Wharehuia district, was given a presentation by the Women’s Division. Mrs. Hucker aas baci an energetic president of the Maunnanui-Ratapiko branch for about three years.
