Taiporohenui Maori: . The monthly meeting was held on Tuesday, Mrs.'Panenui presiding over a good attendance of members and visitors from Tawhiti. Delegates were chosen to represent the institute at the Okaiawa and Normanby institute birthdays. For the benefit of some of to members Mrs. Governor re-read the report on the Auckland conference. Arrangements were made for •the second birthday to be held in the first week in October. The competition for the month was a Madeira cake and it drew a number of entries. Mrs. Adams acted as judge, placing Mrs. Hughes first, Mrs. Pafienui second and Mrs. Valentine third. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs. Hughes and Miss K. Reid.
