Christchurch, Sept. 1. ■ The New Zealand University crosscountry 'championship yesterday " ’was won by Otago with 21 points, Victor with ,24 points being second, and Canterbury with 47 points third and Auckland. with 56 points fourth. Individual placings were:—R. G. Bagnall (Victoria), 39m. 275., 1; W. A. Stewart (Otago), 40m. 165., 2; M. R. Robin- __ son (Otago), 40m. 175., 3; C. (Auckland), 40m. 265., 4; M. OConnor (Victoria), 5; G. A. Smith (Otego), 6. The race was run in a south-wester with'driving rain and hail.
