INDIAN DEATHLOCK
SINGH SHOWS HIS DELIGHT. BOUT WITH BLOMFIELD DRAWN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Jaget Singh, India, made his first appearance at Auckland to-night when he wrestled a drawn bout with Lofty Blomfield, New Zealand. Early in the fourth round Blomfield sent his opponent reeling three times with forearm jolts, then picked up the Indian and slammed him to secure a fall with a body press. The seventh round had not been long in progress before Singh obtained an Indian deathlock that won him a submission fall. The Indian’s gesticulation showed his delight at his success. After a lively final round without further falls the referee declared the match a draw. FAST, EXCITING WRESTLING. EARL McCREADY WINS ON POINTS. Jnvercargill, Last Night. In a wrestling contest this evening Earl McCready, 16.12, beat Glen Wade, 15.11, on points before a packed house. The wrestlers gave an exhibition of exciting, fast and clever wrestling throughout the match.
