CHANGEABLE AT FIRST By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather will be mainly fine on the west coast of the South Island but elsewhere changeable with scatered showers, according to the 4 p.m. forecast. Conditions, however, are improving generally. Temperatures will be cold. The pressure is still low over ana especially east of New Zealand but is rising/ An anti-cyclone of slight intensity covers the western Tasman. Winds will be moderate to strong south-westerly to southerly, still of gale force at places, but gradually moderating. Seas in New Zealand waters will be rough to high on the west coast of the North Island and in Foveaux Strait and elsewhere rather rough to rough. Later seas will decrease. In the eastern Tasman Sea there will be strong but decreasing southerly winds with rather rough but moderating seas.
