BAND OF HOPE MEETING. The last Band of Hope meeting for the year at Upper Mangorei .was held , last Saturday night when Adjutant Canty, New Plymouth, brought out the Salvation Army songsters. The meeting opened with a hymn, prayer and Bible reading, after which the following programme was given: Songsters, “Light After Darkness”; piano solo, Miss Preacher; vocal solo, Mr. Francis, Y.P.S.M.; recitation, Miss D. Burrows; songsters, “Sands of Time”; recitation, Miss D. Kahui; vocal solo, Mr. Francis; community singing led by Mr. Francis; recitation, Miss D. Burrows; songsters, “O Light Everlasting”; recitation, Miss D. Kahui; songsters,; “Chickhlain.” Miss Preacher was accompanist. A vote of thanks was accorded the visitors for their 'splendid entertainment on Mr, Jackson’s motion. Mrs. H. Wood has been receiving medical attention for ■ a poisoned finger and has been staying with Mrs. Low, Westown.
