BARROW AT HAWERA

TRAVELLING ON SCHEDULE. LUNCH WITH “THE GIRL IN RED.” Almost right on schedule time the wheelbarrow travellers, Messrs. L. G. I ukey and J. C. Scholefield, in their Snailaplane, arrived at Hawera at 4.5 p.m. yesterday. Both reported fit and a day without any untoward incident. They left Kaponga at 10 a.m. and experienced a good run down to Manaia, where they arrived at 12.5. ' They left at 1.45. and. made good time to Hawera, which they will leave at 9 a.m. to-day for Patea, where they are due at 5 o’clock this evening. On the way from Manaia they were accompanied for two miles by Miss Nita Rosslyn, with whom they lunched at Manaia. To date they are maintaining their schedule of 16 miles per day, and until yesterday had been on the road 19 days, having covered 304 miles.
