Adelaide, Aug. 181 / South Australia “scooped the pool” in both amateur and professional golf events yesterday, marking the opening of the national meeting yesterday. H. Toogood, with an aggregate of 147 for 36 holes, won the professional event at Kooyonga by one stroke. Ross, Sawyers and P. M. Cudmore (South Australians) tied with a net 71, winning the amateur at Seaton. The New South Wales representatives, Ferrier and W. 80-ger, failed badly, chiefly on the greens.
