DAIRYING PROGRESS
PRODUCTION OVER TEN YEARS. ELTHAM PAYMENTS £1,758,875. Interesting figures recording the progress of the Eltham Dairy Company were given at the annual meeting by the secretary, Mr. C. H. Courtney, op Saturday. He said he joined the company ten years ago when the liquid liabilities exceeded liquid assets by £11,272. Today the position was reversed, liquid assets exceeding liquid liabilities by £5218. This was an improvement of £16,490 in the ten years. During the ten years period the company had made 25,855 tons of cheese, 668 tons of whey butter, 3618 tons of creamery butter and 1471 tons of casein. The total payments during the period amounted to £1,758,875. Ten years ago the costs to f.o.b. were 4.06 d per lb for cheese and 2.03 d for butter. To-day the respective 'gures were 2.08 d and 1.22c1.
