MUNICH’S DAY OF HATE FRESH DRIVE COMMENCED MOB ASSAULTS ONE MAN NAZI DEMONSTRATORS By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Berlin, Aug. 15. As a climax to a day of, propaganda during which most Jews strictly obeyed the warning to remain indoors, 20,000 cheering Nazis admitted by ticket heard the Jew-baiter Her- Streicher launch a new drive at the sports palace, which was bedecked with banners bearing antiJewish sentiments. The police kept a close cordon round the building and round an overflow meeting of 10,000 in an adjacent hall. The crowd prior to the meeting manhandled a Jewish confectioner named Wyom. The police led him away dazed, while youths plastered his windows with copies of Herr Streicher’s -weekly. Herr Streicher declared it was no concern of the foreign Press if Germany cleared up her own house, and added: “The Jews have their own God—Jehovah—but we’ve nothing to do with him.” Munich held a day of hate against the Jews and also staged violent antiCatholic demonstrations. U.S.A.’s OLYMPIC TEAM WILL STATE MAKE GRANT? Rec. 9.25 p.m. Washington, Aug. 15. Mr. Celler to-day introduced a resolution into the House of Representatives to prohibit the Government contribuing financially tovzards the American team’s participation in the Olympic Games in , Germany on the ground of Nazi discrimination against Jewish athletes.
