WEDDING IN ENGLAND.

CALDER—MANDENO.'

At the’ village church of St. Luke, Whyteleaf," Surrey, the wedding took place on July IL of Flying-Officer M. F. Calder (Chriscthurch) to Miss Peggy Mandeno (Dunedin). The bride wore a frock of'ivory satin, and carried a bouquet of Madonna lilies. She wap given away by Mr. Hatch and was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Hatch and Miss Russell. The bridesmaids’ frocks were of cyclamen and turquoise georgette, and the bridegroom and best man wore their Royal Air Force uniforms. Miss Mandeno, aunt of the bride, was hostess at the subsequent reception, held at Ashley Down.

Miss Mary Mules, Cambridge, who is an undergraduate at the Canterbury University College, and who is on the staff of Rangi-ruru School, will leave Christchurch for Wellington at the end of next week. She will take up the position of student assistant z to Dr. C. E. Beeby, who is conducting researches into education.
