. FINAL CRICKET TEST. Some doubt has arisen as to whether the final cricket test between South Africa and England, to be played at the Oval, commencing to-morrow, is to be played to a finish. The position is that the match is limited to three days. Official arrangements in connection with the present tour by the Sohth African team provided for five tests with England being played, each to be commenced at 11.30 a.m. on the first day and at 11 a.m. on the second and third days, stumps to be drawn each , day at 6.30 p.m.. It was also decided that “if, after the. fourth test match, neither side , has gained an advantage, the fifth test will be extended if necessary to six .days, but not more than six days.” , The results of the four teste already decided give . South Africa the advantage of a win over England, three of . the teste having been drawn. It will be necessary, then, .for England to defeat South Africa in three, days in the final test in order to gain. an honours easy decision for the series.. To that end the English selectors apparently are setting up a fast, attack as well. as, providing for good . batting strength, with the- idea of having runs scored quickly,- and with- provision for safety tactics should the necessity of employing them arise.
