REVENUE INCREASES
TARANAKI,POWER BOARD RETURN. ■ CLIFTON CONSUMERS NUMBER 83. A slight increase in revenue for .the quarter ending June 30 was reported to the Taranaki Power Board yesterday, by the accountant, Mr. H. N. Murray, the total 4 amount being £11,792, compared with £11,167 for the same period of the 'previous year. . . ' i The figures for 1934 and 1935 respectively are:—Rates 1930-31, £39, i £24; 1929-30, £2B, —; 1928-29, £66, —; 1927-28, £5, —; legal costs, £42, —; rent,. £3l, £36; goods, £320, £251; current, £10,282; £10,769; installations and services, £309, £638; interest, £29, £l5; interest on fixed deposit, —, £2B; sundry, £l6, £3l; totals, £11,167, £11,792. The finance statement showed an overdraft of £5021 16s lid, after the payment of accounts for £8552 9s 4d. Revenue received since last meeting was: Sale of goods, £9B 2s 3d; sale of current, £3030 6s sd; installation and service line payments, £368 2s; installation' interest, £2 Ils; rent, £8 12s; consumers’ deposits, £8; sundry, £l4 18s 9d; total, £3530 12s sd. The supplementary loan showed a credit of £3503 15s 2d, and the Clifton loan showed a credit of £3089 Ils 7d after payment of accounts for £777 18s 4d. ■ - The engineer, Mr. B. H. Goldsmith, reported that the number of consumers at June 30 was 2338. During the month 1,002,200 units were generated. The largest daily output was 36,700 units, and the maximum demand 2592 k.w. Installations connected were as follow, figures for the corresponding period last year being given in parentheses:—lndustrial motors, 2 (8); water heaters, 1 (2); lighting and heating (new), 9 (9); lighting and heating (ext.), 11 (22). The livening-up of the Clifton system, took place on July 15, all roads being livened with the exception of Moerangi and Kaiplkari, which were not included in the original scheme. The number of consumers connected was 83. There was considerable service work yet to be done in the district, and additional consumers would be connected as their installation work and service lines were completed. It was decided to obtain a portrait of the King from the Soldiers’ Civil Reestablishment League. The chairman and engineer were appointed to attend the annual conference of the Electric Power Boards’ Association.
There were present Messrs. H. G. Carman (chairman), J. Dobson, C. Foreman, R. J. Knuckey, C. E. McGuinness, M. J. Gemhoefer, H. J. Marchant and N. H. Moss.
