Mr. H. Stonex, Russell, formerly a resident of the Bell Block district, is spending a holiday at New Plymouth. The death of Brigadier-General John LamrOck, until recently secretary of the Moorfield Race Club, is reported by cable from Sydney. Mr. F. W. Short, chief inspector of the stock division of the Department of Agriculture for the Wellington district, is visiting New Plymouth. The death of Mr. R. M. Gordon occurred suddenly at Wellington yesterday, states the Press Association. He was formerly of the Eastern Extension Cable Company. Miss A. Pattrick, for 14 years until last September director of Plunket nursing for New Zealand, will leave next week for Canada at the invitation of the child welfare authorities of Montreal, to confer with them bn matters affecting the welfare of mothers and babies, says a Wellington Press Association message. I The funeral of the late Mr. G. B. Kyngdon took place at Te Henui cemetery, New Plymouth, yesterday and was largely attended. The service was taken by the Rev. G. W. G. Griffin, vicar of Holy Trinity, Fitzroy. The bearers were Messrs. L. A. Nolan, P. Hopkins, T. C. Fookes, A. Bewley, A. Ambury and A. Binnie. Expressions of sympathy with Mr. Kyngdon’s relatives have been received from a wide circle of friends.
