ON BURNING SETTEE
SLEEPING MAN’S NARROW ESCAPE.
SON’S DIFFICULTY IN WAKING HIM.
By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Wellington, July. 13....
After his wife and most of his children had retired Mr. S. W. Moult, of Miramar, fell asleep on a settee before the fire. By some means the settee became alight and Mr. Moult did not awake, but luckily a son came in and aroused him, though with great difficulty. A fire extinguisher from a car failed to put the settee out, and a garden hose was used by Mr. Moult, who kept the fire in check this way while his son called the brigade, which soon* arrived. Mr. Moult thinks he had a fortunate escape with his life. In 1913 he was blown up in a house in Thompson Street.
