Waitera: The monthly meeting was held on July 10, Mrs. Jury presiding over a good attendance. Dr. G. P. Adamson gave a talk on diseases' of women relating to cancer. A competition for shortbread judged by Mrs. Anderson was won by Mrs. Barden, with Mrs. Hogg second and Mrs. Grant third. A jumbled film competition arranged by Miss Rattenbury was won by Miss J. Turner. It was decided to donate single bed quilts made by members to the old people’s home at New Plymouth, cot quilts to be given to needy cases at Waitara. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Hingsley, Gillespie, Ibbotson and Chapman.
