Invercargill, Last Night. , The contest for the light-heavyweight professional boxing championship of New Zealand to-night between Ray Nicol (12.2 J Ohai, the holder, and Ern Jacobs (11.13), Wellington, resulted in a win for Nicol on points. Jacobs proved himself a clever boxer, but Nicol’s greater strength and ringcraft -were the deciding factors. In a professional preliminary bout D. Stirling (10.0), Oamaru, beat L. Adams (10.0), Invercargill, on points, the decision meeting with a mixed reception./ TURF. - JJJ
