TOWN AND COUNTRY
MATCH FOR THE PELLETT CUP. SELECTION OF THE TEAMS. The Town and Country teams from the Central Division junior Rugby clubs will play the annual match for the Pellett Cup at Stratford on Thursday. The selectors, Messrs. E. Owen and A. Grace for the Town and Mr. P. Horn for the Country announce the following teams:— Town. Full-back: Wilmshurst (Old Boys). Tfireequarters: Trigger (Inglewood), Allen (Inglewood), Richards (Stratford). Five-eighths: Walker (Eltham), second, McCarrison (Old Boys), first. Half: Ladbrook (Inglewood). Back row: Cowell (Eltham). Middle row: Bonner (Stratford), Thomson (Old Boys), McKay (Inglewood), Bulmer (Old Boys). Front row: Tipler (Eltham), Thompson (Stratford), Charlton (Stratford). Country. Full-back: Ludlam (Midhirst). Threequarter: Rosewame (Midhirst), Standring (Toko), Preston - Thomas (Toko). s • Five-eighths: Jakes (Midhirst), second, Cookson (Midhirst), first. Half: Babington (Cardiff). Back row: P. Jones (Toko). / Middle row: Hosking (Midhirst.), Huckstep (Cardiff), Neal (Cardiff), Redshaw (Cardiff). Front row: Chapman (Toko), . Wellington (Midhirst), Alexander (Midhirst). The teams, generally speaking, are as sound as they could be made. . The inclusion of Allen as a Town centre when he usually plays full-back for Inglewood might be regarded as unusual, but Allen is recognised as being capable of playing well in any back position and in the absence of an outstanding centre in any of the Town teams Allen was the choice. Richards (Stratford), on the wing, is a more surprising selection. He played last season as a third grade forward and was used once this season on the wing by Stratford senior and twice by Stratford junior. He is a useful kicker, but is a forward rather than a back. The Country team is a well-balanced selection and it would be difficult to make any constructive suggestion.
