THE WENDY HUT.

I LETTER FROM WENDY. ! . ■ ’ — —o— — J ABOUT TllE SUNSHINE CUPBOARD. • ■ o—• Dear Tinks,—Do you remember the lovely things you made for the Sunshine Cupboard last year ? The Hut Folk certainly do. There were cosy scarves for little children; there were woolly bonnets for babies; there were little knitted frocks and booties and slippers, and all sorts of things that came in interesting-looking parcels all marked “For the Sunshine. Cupboard.” And then, too, there were the knitted squares that you sent to be joined up to make blankets and rugs. •Well, all these things were very useful and they gave ■. happiness, tb ever so many little boys and girls, so. we* thought that perhaps some of you might like to help again this year by sending more things to' us for the Sunshine Cupboard. Knitted squares are the easiest to make, the Hut folk think, so perhaps you could send us some of those. They are called '? Sunshine Squares at the Hut, so it would be fun to have a Sunshine Corner on our page, where we could put every week ' • the names bf Tinks who had sent us Sunshine Squares and where we ‘could see how the numbers sent in were growing. It is best for everyone to make the same sized square, if ‘possible, for then it is easier to join them all up in the end, r/to so we have decided that our Sunshine ' Squares this year shall be six inches.: That means about-40 stitches of worked on medium sized needles. We should be very pleased if you would’make us some • of these, Tinks, and of course if you would sooner make little ; - Scarfs or-bonnets'or frocks or booties we should be very pleased with them, too, for there are always lots of little children who would be glad of them through the winter months. So if you have any spare time, Tinks, and are fond of knitting, please remember the Sunshine Cupboard and the Sunshine - Squar es ! . / . And now* there is one more thing to tell you, is not . abopt th^-SuriShihe Squares. It is about another competition ; that will be* announced next "week—a new kind of drawing v/,';. competition. , Sb, "Tinks, have your pencils sharpened and be jeady:!. Your imaginations..will have to get to. work this time, too. .— A. . j ’ Love to everyone— • a \ ' V G ' / L • *■ ./WENDY.
