ETHIOPIAN ATTACKS FIGHTING ON FRONTIER RESENTMENT AROUSED ITALY’S TROOPS CHEERED 1,000,000 MEN UNDER ARMS By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 11 p.m. Rome, June 4. News of fresh incidents on the Abyssinian frontier aroused resentment and excitement throughout the city where crowds cheered wildly when detachments Of troops in colonial helmets marched through the streets. Officials declare that Italy is incapable of properly policing the frontiers. Following an , Abyssinian attack On a police post at Uebescebelli 30 Italian subjects of Eritrea were killed and thousands of cattle were captured. Twenty armed Abyssinians on the same day attacked an Italian outpost at Cublei. They refused to halt and opened fire, which the Italians returned, killing ten Abyssinians. The fresh incidents are regarded as less grave than the Ualual trouble, which gave rise to the present dispute between Italy and Abyssinia. Italian troops under arms now number nearly 1,000,000. Two army and two Black Shirt divisions are proceeding to barracks in preparation for service in Africa, where 134,000 are already stationed. Contingents of troops are leaving Italy thrice daily. A Basle message says that Italy has purchased five Swiss aeroplanes for which Abyssinia has been negotiating.
