SHOWERS OR MISTY RAIN
EASTERLY WINDS EXPECTED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather will be fair to fine in western districts of the South Island, but elsewhere cloudy to overcast with scattered showers or misty rain, says the 4 p.m. forecast. Some heavy falls are likely in the far north and north-east parts of the North Island. An intense anti-cyclone centred near Hobart extends across the Tasman and New Zealand, but a depression is now located to the north. Winds will be easterly to southeasterly, light to moderate generally and freshening about and north Of Cook Strait. Seas will be rather rough north of East Cape, later rising thence south’wards to Kaikoura, and smooth to moderate elsewhere.
