Ltd. in a review of the < Feilding stock sale on Friday. The entry 1 of sheep was estimated to be in the 1 vicinity of 10,000, approximately half of these comprising fat lambs and ewes. Competition was strong for fat lambs and there was a sound sale at what ap-

peared to be a J little above schedule prices. Mr.’ N. S. Lawrence topped the market in this section with some exceptionally prime lambs at 25s Id. The demand for fat ewes was only fair, but all lots changed hands. Breeding ewes were yarded in heavier numbers, but with few exceptions they lacked quality. Bright local ewes met with ready competition and sold fully up to recent rates, but the remainder of the yarding met a dull sale. A fair entry of store lambs were submitted and there was competition for all healthy lines; although the fattening season is practically past, the demand was mainly for hold-over purposes. Prices remained firm. There was an average yarding of cattle in all sections. Inquiry was slack for station cattle and few sales were made. In the beef there was also a dull'sale, with prices barely maintaining last week’s rates. There was better inquiry for in-calf dairy heifers than for some time. In the dairy section early calvers sold readily. Quotations were: Fat lambs, 12s, 14s, 14s 2d, 15s lOd, 16s 2d, 17s, 18s 7d, 18s 10d, 19s 3d, 19s sd, 19s 6d, 19s lid, 20s, 20s 6d, 25s Id; fat two-tooths, 16s; fat wethers, 19s 6d, 21s 9d; fat ewes, Ils, Ils 2d, 13s Id, 13s 7d, 14s, 14s Id, 14s 4d; wether lambs, 10s 3d, 12s 6d, 13s, 13s 2d, 14s, 14s Id, 14s 2d, 15s, 9d; ewe lambs, 14s 4d, 17s 6d, 18s 8d; two-tooth ewes, r.w.
