PERSONAL’ AND' GENERAL. Last Wednesday was very rough and wet, which was very unfortunate for Mrs. T. Willcox, president of the beach baby committee in the carnival, as all outdoor games on the lawns had to be abandoned, and the visitors were confined to the house, where pleasant time was spent. Miss Robertson gave recitations and competitions and cards were enjoyed until five o’clock. Afternoon tea on the Thursday, was provided by the “beach,” while the “bush” held a mart under Mr. Hughson’s verandah. Very good business was done and everything sold readily. Mr. W. Quickenden is again a patient in hospital. . ~ Mr. W. R. Wright is home again atter being a patient in a private hospital. The basketball club’s euchre party on Saturday night was well attended, a larger crowd than ever assembling. At Mrs. L. Billing’s home the members of the Dramatic Society took the °PP° r " tunity to say goodbye to Mr. and Mrs. Everest and ask them to accept a tea waggon as a token of appreciation. Mr. Everest has been promoted to the Eltham post office. 1
