ELTHAM TALKIES.

“MIDNIGHT CLUB.” “Midnight Club,” to be shown at the Eltham Theatre to-night only, is the picturisation of a story by Phillip Oppenheim dealing with the operations of a gang of London jewel thieves and their duel of wits with the police. The story alone would hold the interest of any audience, for it is based on a watertight plot, and abounds in thrilling and tense moments. The plot is ingenious throughout. Whenever the four persons —three men and a woman—in search of excitement and life, leave their club, the detectives set to watch them are foiled by the magical appearance of four others, their doubles, precisely similar in dress, mannerisms and speech. The clever way in which the original quartette change places with their doubles is well worth seeing. Clive Brook, George Raft, Alison Skipworth and Helen Vinson are in the featured roles.
