The Australian Jockey Club’s winter meeting opened to-day in the finest of weather. The principal results were:— A.J.C. HURDLES. SIXTEEN. ANNAS, 9.11. (Hynes) 1 SPANKER, 9.5 (Pearce) 2 KOOLAGOOR, 9.3 (Hood) - 8 Seven started. • Ten lehgths; eight lengths. Abbott’s Lad was fourth and Greensea fifth. Time, 4m 235. ' ' JUNE STAKES. CERCELLO, 8.11 (D. Munro) 1 BOUYEO, 7.0 (Murphy) . 2 DAME MOAB, 7.12 (Cook) ; 3 Seventeen started, including Silver Ring, Waikare, Capris and Sir: Nigel. Three-quarters of a length; length and a quarter. The New Zealanders finished in the ruck.. Time, Im lljs. Money' Spi was unplaced in the First Nursery Handicap, which was won by Sailor Prince. Scratchmete Scar. and After' Money were unplaced in the Ellesmere Handicap, which was won by Oro. RIV ALLI’S BRISBANE CUT. McCARTEN RIDES A THIRD. Rec. 9.30 p.m. Brisbane, June 3.
