CHASE’S FLYING EFFORT COLLINS’ KICKING FAILURE. MANY EXCITING MOVEMENTS. Wanganui kicked off and both sets of backs immediately went away, the Wanganui attack being potentially dangerous when Edwards missed Bullock-Doug-las. A long kick put Wanganui in the Taranaki twenty-five and when Morgan smartly set his backs off the ball quickly went to Chase, who, blocked by Collins, sent on to Jones, who scored under the, posts. Ford Young, Fastier, YoUng and Ford again handled and Ford dashing for the line was tackled by Chase- He over and over into touch; in goal and the referee refused to allow the try, ruling no touch down. Taraniki supporters were not pleased with the decision. From the drop out the backs went away and Galbraith, seeing an opening, was through in a flash.
