By Telegraph—Press Assn.— Copyright. Rec. 6.30 p.m. London, May 18. The Dunlop Golf Tournament at Southport was won by C. A. Whitcombe, who returned a card of 72 in the third round, giving him an aggregate of 295. Other fourth round and aggregate scores were: Cotton 74-296, Burton 74-296, Green 76297, Jarman 75-299, Allies 72-300, R. A. Whitcombe 72-300, King 76-300, Padgham 72-302, Compston 80-307, Hodson 79-308, Cox 77-309, E. R. Whitcombe 72-311, Havers 77-313, Nolan 72-315. . There was an exciting finish to the tournament. The snow cleared off and the match was played in sunny weather in a high, cold wind. Cotton with two hcdes to play needed two threes to tie. He scored a three at the difficult 400-yard 17th, holing a sixyard putt. A big crowd estimated at 2000 rushed and surrounded the last green to see the close of a dramatic struggle. Cotton’s tee shot was slightly pushed out, and his approach finished ten feet from the hole. He putted midst a breathless silence. The ball hit the rim of the hole and a mighty cheer rang out but was immediately silenced when it was seen that the ball ran round the rim and stayed out. . Busson, Easterbrook, Lacey and Davies scratched owing to previous engagements.
