ACTIVITIES OF BIBLE SOCIETY.
NEW PLYMOUTH AUXILIARY.
The collectors of the central branch of the New Plymouth Auxiliary of the British and Foreign Bible Society were entertained in the Victoria League rooms by the president, Mr. W. H. Skinner. There were present Mesdames H. Cox, T. H. Reed, M. Childerstone, J. Best, W. Read (Vogeltown), Misses A. Evans, A. Drew, N. Heppell, K. Monteath, H. Sutton, A.-Wilson, I. Musker (secretary), R. Fawcett (organiser), and Mr. T.. G. Hirst (treasurer). ,
The secretary was instructed to write to Miss K. L- Hammerton and Miss Guildhall, who are in hospital, expressing appreciation of their services and hopes for recovery. The election of officers resulted: President, Miss A. Wilson; secretary, Miss I. Musker. The collectors present all intimated their willingness to assist again this year. Three new collectors, Mesdames M. Childerstone, J. Best and Easthope, were welcomed and regret was expressed at the resignation of Miss Rawson, who had rendered long and faithful service. Mrs. N. Balharry resigned from the presidency of the branch. Miss Fawcett expressed congratulations to Mr. Skinner on receiving • a King’s jubilee medal.
