COTTON GOODS DUTY
TO OPERATE FROM MAY 17. NO CHANGE OF VIEWPOINT. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, April 30. The new Australian duties on certain cotton goods will operate on May 17 unless there is a last-minute change of viewpoint, says the Daily Telegraph’s Manchester correspondent. Traders are greatly disappointed that a fresh extension of time has not been granted till the matter is discussed with Australian Ministers during their coming visit to Britain.
